People don’t change?

I am not a true believer of the above. Too many times I have seen teachers change when given a better way. When they discover a real authentic way to connect with students, many will embrace it. Over the past two years I have seen many teachers embrace technologies in ways I would never have guessed. We have old timers blogging, Luddites creating wikis, technephobes using imovie…all to better connect with students. The technologies do change–and rapidly–which why we blog here at the tips: To share with you our perspectives and discoveries…

With the new school year about to start, make a new year’s teaching resolution.

  2. You are so right on with this post! Great teachers utilize sound teaching methods, but they also know how to adapt to what engages kids. Additionally, they open their minds to what kids need to know to be successful, and that means going well beyond reading and writing. That’s just not enough anymore.

    People don’t change. They can’t. They can ADAPT to society, to other cultures, to new ideas. It doesn’t mean they’ve changed. You can control your actions, but not your thoughts, or your feelings. You can ADAPT to what you want to be, but you can’t change who you are.
