Celebrate and Share

Paul McMahon commented on a post at my personal blog that reminded me of a practice we used for many years at my previous school.  We had a staff digital newsletter that went out every few weeks that highlighted instructional strategies and innovative assessment techniques that made a difference in student learning. Besides the sharing of new ideas, the newsletter also put our creative and risk taking teachers in the spotlight. Once shared, the strategies would be posted in the Best Practices section of our Teacher Toolkit.

Today we have principal and curriculum leaders’ blogs as the delivery mechanism. So if the ideas of your shifted teachers are not being promoted and celebrated, think about collecting those great practices and distribute them digitally out into your learning community.
